Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - A "groundbreaking" sequel

Blizzard calls the new Call of Duty a "groundbreaking new experience", so the bar is high. It is supposed to be a direct sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare. A new solo campaign, including reunions with familiar faces, will also be featured this time around. The focus is supposedly on the improved enemy AI, which is supposed to ensure particularly realistic NPC opponents. A concrete release date has not yet been set. However, it could be as early as October or November.

FIFA 23 - The last part of the series?

FIFA 23 is expected to be launched this autumn. However, this could be the last part with this name: The naming contract between EA and FIFA expires at the end of the year. All negotiations for an extension have failed so far. There are also some innovations in the game: According to industry insider Tom Henderson, there will be a cross-play option for the first time in the history of the series. Players on different platforms will be able to compete against each other! There will also be a World Cup mode for both men and women.

Frostpunk 2 - Battle for oil resource in freezing cold

The sequel to the 2018 survival game of the same name is already eagerly awaited by fans of its award-winning predecessor. The combination of strategy and survival will once again be the focus of the sequel. After the coal age, the focus is now on the development of new resources, first and foremost oil. In the process, however, the icy climate continues to be just as much of a problem for the player as social unrest and political conflicts. A release date has not yet been set.

God of War Ragnarok - Can you stop the prophecy?

In the latest God of War instalment, you are once again plunged into the world of Norse mythology. Kratos and Atreus aka "Boy" set off on a new adventure and this time the stakes are particularly high, as the dark prophecy of Ragnarok looms like a dark cloud on the horizon. Before the battle breaks out that is to herald the end of the world, the two must gather powerful allies from all lands. In the process, of course, they will once again have to face all kinds of opponents. According to rumours, the game will be released on 30 September.

Hogwarts Legacy - Leave Your Own Legacy

Join a house, learn spells, explore Hogwarts or stroll through the streets of Hogsmeade - the dream of many Harry Potter fans will come true this year. Although Hogwarts Legacy takes place some time before Harry & Co. attend the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, this does not detract from the magic. As a student in the 19th century, you have the opportunity to leave your very own legacy. Contrary to what was previously announced, the magical RPG will not only be released for Playstation and Xbox, but also for the Nintendo Switch. Hogwarts Legacy is expected to be released at the end of the year - perhaps as a Christmas present?

Overwatch 2 - Closed Beta in the starting blocks

The popular multiplayer first-person shooter from Blizzard is going into the next round! Six years after the release of the first part, the sequel will soon be released. A concrete release date has not yet been set, but the closed beta is already planned for 26 April. Overwatch fans can expect new maps, new heroes and even story-based PvE co-op missions. These will be separate from the PvP part. Probably the most important change, however, is the switch to the 5v5 format.

The Settlers - The Worst Game in the Series?

The hype about the latest Settlers was initially great, but after the beta release the mood changed and criticism of the game was voiced. The main criticism was the lack of complexity, which had nothing in common with the predecessors. After the beta phase at the beginning of this year, Ubisoft decided to revise the game again. So there seems to be a reason for cautious hype after all!

Starfield - More than Skyrim in Space?

Bethesda 's new role-playing game literally takes you to the stars. The next-gen RPG from the award-winning makers of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4 heralds the start of a new franchise, as it is the first new Bethesda universe in 25 years. It is supposed to convince with individual character creation and a huge open-world. The focus of the sci-fi RPG is probably on exploring the world. Starfield is scheduled for release on 11 November.

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters - Tactical Roleplaying Game in the Galaxy

The tactical role-playing game from the forge of Frontier Foundry and Complex Games is to be released on 5 May. As the leader of the so-called Grey Knights, you command your own attack force. You can customise each of your fighters with the help of different classes and a skill tree. In the turn-based battles, you collect experience and various resources and confront the plague that threatens the entire galaxy.

  • I'm really looking forward to the new Call of Duty. I've always been a big fan of the Modern Warfare series, and I've spent hours and hours glutting the multiplayer. But the best thing will be the new Warzone, which is supposed to come. Nobody can afford Caldera anymore!
